Condense module sections
Reported by Trevor Buckner | May 10th, 2016 @ 02:03 PM
Each section added to the module takes up a lot of screen space. I saw the ticket about collapsing text sections, but I think overall the design could use some slimming down.
Some thoughts:
- Move the markup tips (**bold** italics ~~strikeout~~ * bullet list) above the content, in-line with the section title (i.e., in a "Plain Text" segment, put your markup tips in that same row with "Plain Text")
- Remove some of the vertical padding around sections (the dark margin area around each segment is very very thick)
- Make single-line text inputs vertically smaller, for instance in monster stat blocks, I have to scroll down 2 pages or so to see the whole block.
- Shrink vertical separation between single-line text inputs.
- By default shrink multi-line text inputs (i.e. "Plain Text" or "Quote") down to only one line more than the entered text. I don't need a 6-line textbox for a single-line quote.
- Move the "move up/move down/delete" buttons to the side of each segment rather than hovering above, or place them within the dark margin area, to reduce the spacing between each segment.
I don't know if these items would destroy the style of the website, but I really like being able to see more than 2 or 3 sections on my screen at once when editing a long document.
